Arike Ogunbowale

Arike Ogunbowale was an American pro basketball player who plays for the Dallas Wings of the Women's National Basketball Association. She played in the NCAA basketball tournament for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, before being drafted by the Wings with the fifth overall selection of the 2019 WNBA draft. Arike Ogunbowale was born March 2nd, 1997, in Milwaukee Wisconsin to parents Yolanda and Gregory Ogunbowale. Mario Ogunbowale is her 26-year-old brother, and Dare Ogunbowale, 20 years older. Her parents spoilt her the most because she was the youngest. The father of her Gregory was a soldier as a soldier in the Nigerian Army for quite some time. Ogunbowale lives with a very active family. Her brother Dare plays football as is her mom Yolanda used to play softball at DePaul. The cousin of her Endia Ollie is also a Volleyball player at Tennessee State. The name of Ogunbowale was listed on the honor roll of her high school for three years. Apart from her fame, she has been awarded numerous awards during her studies. Arike completed her studies at Divine Savior Holy Angels High School in her hometown. She also played three varsity seasons at school. Ogunbowale was able to lead her team to numerous victories thanks to her exceptional ability. Her high school playing career complete with 73 wins, 1,477 career points and 739 lifetime rebound. Ogunbowale has won gold medals in the 2013 FIBA Americas U16 Championship as well as the 2014. FIBA U17 World Championship, and the 2013 FIBA 3x3 U18 Championship. In July of 2014 she was chosen to be a member of the USA Youth Olympic Women's Basketball Team. Ogunbowale is also named to be part of the ACC All-Freshman Team for her first collegiate campaign. Kobe Bryant even thanked her for hitting a number of big shots during the NCCA Tournament. Ogunbowale, even though she is relatively new to the sport of basketball has made herself the best player. She will surely keep her status in the game.
